Warhammer 40K Mini Battlezone – Build Part 8

In Part 8 of my Warhammer 40K Mini Battlezone build, I started to work on the LED wiring and testing.

I first started by cutting some 22 Gauge wire into 10 inch lengths and used my wire strippers to expose about 1/8th of the cable for soldering. I used blue wire for the Positive terminal and white for the Negative terminal on the blue LED’s and red for Positive terminal and black for the Negative terminal on the Red LED’s. I used my soldering iron to solder the wires to the leads of the LED’s. With this color code scheme it will be easier for me to wire things up later on.

After soldering up some Blue LED’s I temporarily attached them to one wing of the Space Marines spaceship, and then powered them up with my power supply. Looking at the picture above you can see this is gonna look great.

Next I drilled a 1/8″ hole in the base of a Tyranid and inserted a red LED and then I powered it up to see how it’s gonna look.

Lastly I drilled a hole in the base of a Space Marine and then inserted a blue LED which was powered on. The blue LED will highlight the blue color on the Space Marines real well. This part of the project is starting to get real fun as things are finally starting to come together.

The next step will be some more LED lighting and possibly the servo setup.
